For all one (or two) of you who were wondering, today I met the venerable man behind the food (see previous posts) and all has been revealed. The repeating mantra was
effektivität ist besser als effizienz
effectiveness is better than efficiency
Talking with the artist’s performance avatar, Georgie Gold, all was revealed. The artist is Patrik Huber, and the mantra is meant to evoke the monotonous corporate/robotic behaviour of results above all. The absurdity of ‘eating’ gross amounts of (gross) food whilst repeating the phrase makes ultimate sense, and I now get what Georgie was going for. And bonus points for anybody who knows about the myth and legend of Georgie Gold.
